We are pleased to announce the introduction of the DR-1XE, dual band (144/430MHz) repeater that supports both conventional analogue FM and System Fusion digital radio protocol at the same time all within the limits of a 12.5 kHz channel bandwidth. We are confident that the introduction of the new DR-1XE is dawn of our new and exciting multi-function system, System Fusion. System Fusion is the integrated platform we offer to bring our digital radio solutions that enabling crisp and lear voice communications and reliable high-speed data communications using C4FM digital modulation and also to continue to provide with substantial advantages of FM Analogue such as low battery consumption and greater distance capability.

One of key features of System Fusion products is AMS (Automatic Mode Select) capability, which instantly detect whether the received signal is V/D mode, Voice FR mode and Data FR mode of C4FM Digital or Analogue FM mode, and automatically match the communication mode of the received signal. Thus, with System Fusion digital transceivers, including FT1DE and FTM-400DE, you don’t need to manually switch between the communication modes to intercommunicate with other FM Analogue transceivers.

With the DR-1XE, AMS can be configured to convert the incoming C4FM Digital signal into FM Analogue signal and retransmit it thus enabling intercommunication between Digital and FM Analogue transceivers.

AMS can also be configured to automatically retransmit the incoming mode to the output thus enabling both Digital and Analogue users to coexist on the same repeater.

Until now, FM repeaters were only used for conventional FM, and digital repeaters were only used for digital communication. However, from now on, by simply replacing an existing FM analogue repeater with DR-1XE, you can continue to use the repeater for conventional FM communication and also use it for advanced System Fusion digital radio communications. Existing peripheral devices such as the duplexer and amplifier, etc., can also continue to be used as-is.

Repeater controller features include control panel selection of RX/TX frequency, Power (50/20/5W), CTCSS or DCS Control access for Analogue FM, with programmable timeouts and Station ID in CW or Voice (if FVS-2 option installed). Remote control for Shutdown function is also supported. The rear panel Control I/O port is connectable with the “S-COM 7330 Triple Repeater Controller”. This controller manages max. three units of DR-1XE to operate with programmable beep, timer, access mode and more. These new versions of FT1DE released by YAESU upon the large request of many end-users are now available. Although the digital section requires an higher current consumption, the bundling of FNB-102LI is significantly improving the operational autonomy.
